Bethany Celebrates 101 Years of Christian Love and Service

Bethany officially celebrated its 101st anniversary on Sunday, July 21, 2019. The Reverend Dr. Charlene Watkins was the guest speaker delivering an inspiring sermon following the anniversary theme of “New Horizons 101: Beginning a Second Century of Christian Love and Service.”

Rev. Watkins’ sermon was based on Luke 10: 38-42 and reminded worshipers to always seek the presence of the Lord, discern the Lord’s purpose for your life, and patiently receive the Lord’s power to glorify his name.

Dr. Watkins has served in full-time ministry for 42 years and is presently the Minister of Christian Education at Mt Olivet Baptist Church. A reception was held in Rogers hall following morning worship.
