About

ABOUT THE EVENT

Sponsored by Bethany Presbyterian Church, The Bronzeville Push For Peace event was created to unite the Bronzeville community alongside the City of Columbus. Our focus is our community's rising gun violence and crime.

According to our mayor, Andrew Ginther, “The city had 180 homicides in 2020 and 204 in homicides in 2021. Of the homicides that occurred last year, 91% involved the use of a firearm."

For decades, the Bronzeville community has been the home of strong African American entrepreneurship, culture, and faith. However, over the years, the city’s lack of investment into our community has created a vacuum filled with symptoms of oppression and poverty.
